by John C. Green The late November blizzard requires wildlife to take cover and hold up till Mother Nature gives em a few days break between blizzards. Old Cocks
and Big Bucks who a few weeks before were strutten their stuff now head for cover, and
find a hideaway. For the avid late season hunter they seem to vanish, only to reappear
after season. |

Green - 1998 As the nose hits the ground, the magic begins. The trail's hot, the dogs birdie, as it weaves his way in hot pursuit. His master can only follow in amazement, as nothing we can teach them can explain this (one on one) match in instincts. It's indeed pure magic as one watches this instinct take over to find, flush, and retrieve the bird. We can teach them to sit, stay, retrieve, etc., but we can't teach the magical part - the instinct developed over thousands of years to hunt down the prey. It is truly black magic. |
